Supreme Lawgiver
“There is one lawgiver, who is
able to save and destroy.” (James 4:12) Almighty God,
the Creator of all things that exist, is THE Supreme Lawgiver. Each
nation on this earth has its human lawgivers and lawmakers. But far above all
these small, human lawgivers, there stands THE Supreme Lawgiver of the
universe, Almighty God. He has given us His laws in His Holy Bible. All of His
laws are good, just, and upright. There is absolutely NO fault in them at all. Therefore,
it would greatly behoove each of us human creatures to obey our Creator’s Laws.
That is because God saves the people who obey Him. And He destroys
those who disobey Him. The one most important thing you must do
in this life, above all other things, is to obey your Creator God. Please
call on Him right now and ask Him to help you to do that. Your eternal well-being
depends on you obeying your Creator.
“Almighty God, please give me
a heart to obey Thee. Please come into my heart and life to break down every
barrier to Thy Holy Spirit. Fight for me against the devil, against sin,
against my selfish will, and against my rebellious nature and give me Godly
victory in my heart and life. Please change my heart into one that obeys Thee
fully. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
Do take careful notice of two
most important words there in James 4:12, “is
able”. The One True God is Omnipotent (All Powerful), Omniscient (All
Knowing), and Omnipresent (Present Everywhere at all Times). He keeps a
detailed record of all your thoughts, words, and actions during your entire
life here on this earth. After your life on earth ends, Almighty God will bring
you into Judgment and judge the life you lived on this earth. No person can
run away from God. No person can escape His Just and Holy Judgment. You are
headed straight toward the Judgment Bar of Almighty God. You will not fail to
make your appointment there. The one thing you must do now is to prepare to
meet Almighty God in Judgment. Obedience to God in this life is the way to
be prepared to meet God in Judgment.
“Almighty God, please show me
the necessity of now preparing to meet Thee in Judgment. Teach me true
obedience to Thee. Change my rebellious heart and create within me a willing
heart that is desirous to obey Thee fully. I pray this for all other people
also. Amen.”
As we live here on the earth,
decent and upright people often throw up their hands and sigh in despair over
the gross failures of human law givers and human law enforcers to decree just
laws and to properly enforce the law. Outlaws of all kinds openly make a
mockery of the laws, lawmakers, judges, police, and all such law officials, as
these outlaws blatantly disobey any law they care to, and boldly defy law
officials to do anything about it. Presently, such lawlessness is rampant in
all nations throughout the world, and it is most grievous to people who “love the good and hate the evil”.
Therefore, God gives us
Christian believers these words of comfort and hope. “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the
Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming
fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel
of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction
from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” (II Thessalonians 1:7-10) Almighty God Who has ALL power to save
and to destroy is soon to come again into this wicked, sinful world to destroy with
everlasting destruction all human creatures who do not know Him and who do
not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. No rebel will escape Him.
All who spurned His laws and broke them will be banished to everlasting
destruction in a lake of fire called Hell. That fact is as certain and as
absolute as anything is. The one most important thing for you to do is to be
saved from that everlasting destruction. You do not want to make the eternal
torments of Hell fire your never ending abode. Please call on Almighty God
right now, to save you.
“Almighty God, I come to
Thee, seeking Thy Help and Thy Eternal Salvation. Please show me the way of Thy
Salvation. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
God is soon to come to this earth in flaming fire, taking vengeance on the people who do not know Him. God has graciously given us a means by which we can well know Him. That means is His Holy Bible. All the words in the Holy Bible are God’s Truth. There are no lies, falsehoods, or errors in the Bible (King James Version 1611). So you must read the Holy Bible. And while doing so, constantly pray to the One True God, Who wrote the Bible, to teach you the meaning of its words. If you do not have a Bible, pray to God to provide one for you. If you write to us asking for a Bible, we will send you a Bible free if we possibly can.
“God…now
commandeth all men everywhere to repent”
All of God’s commandments
pertaining to us human creatures are written in His Holy Bible. Another
important thing that the Bible declares to us is that each and every one of us
humans has disobeyed God’s laws and thereby has sinned against Him. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) Therefore, how can we be saved from the destructive vengeance
God takes on those who disobey Him? Being rich in mercy and rich in grace, God
has provided repentance for us. And through that repentance, He provides
forgiveness, pardon, and salvation for those who will repent. Therefore the first
step for anyone to take in obeying God is to obey His command to repent.
Until now, you may have been ignorant of what God requires of you. So read
carefully what He says about repentance in the Bible. “And at the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now
commandeth all men every where to repent.”
(Acts 17:30)
“Almighty God, save me from
my ignorance of Thee and of Thy words in Thy Holy Bible. I now open my heart
fully to Thee for Thee to teach me everything I need to know about Thee. Please
teach me about true repentance toward God. Please come into my heart and work
graciously and mercifully there to bring about true repentance in my heart.
Please work in my heart by Thy Holy Spirit to enable me to obey this
commandment of Thine and to truly repent unto Thee. I pray this for all other
people also. Amen.”
“Wherefore the law was our
schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” (Galatians 3:24) There is only one way for any of us lawbreakers
to stand justified before Almighty God our Supreme Lawgiver. That is by repenting
of our sins and trusting in Christ to save us from the punishment of our sins.
One purpose God had in giving us His law was for the law to be our schoolmaster
(our teacher and our guide) to lead us and bring us to Christ for salvation,
justification, and such. If you are ignorant of God’s law, that leaves you void
of understanding as to why it is necessary for you to humble yourself and
repent to God. Throughout the Bible, there are many laws and commandments given
to us by God. The “Ten Commandments” are the basic framework of God’s laws
for us. So please look at each one of those Ten Commandments now, with the
purpose of letting them be your schoolmaster to bring you to Christ. Please
open up your heart to God’s Holy Spirit for Him to show you how that you have
broken each and every one of God’s Ten Commandments.
“Heavenly Father, I now open
my heart fully to Thee for Thy Holy Spirit to teach me Thy Ten Commandments and
to show me all the sins I have committed against these Commandments of Thine.
Please convict me of my transgressions of Thy Law. Amen.”
“Thou shalt have no other gods
before me.” (Exodus 20:3) All of us lawbreakers
have broken that law by loving some person (or persons) or some thing (or
things) more than we loved our Creator God. Therefore each of us must repent to
God for that sinful rebellion against Him.
“Almighty God, please show me
all my sins that I have committed against this first commandment of Thine, and
help me to truly repent of those sins. Please show me each and every thing that
I am presently putting before Thee, help me to cease making those things into
the gods I worship, and to truly put Thee first in my life and to have no other
gods before Thee. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“Thou shalt not make unto thee
any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that
is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt
not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the
third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto
thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” (20:4-6) Though you may not have ever have carved out a graven
image of some being and bowed down to it and worshipped it as a god, this
commandment also forbids us to make any likeness of any thing that is in the
heavens, or on the earth, or that is in the waters. This would include still
and moving pictures. They tend to captivate us, steal our hearts away from God,
and become even more endeared to us than our Creator God. Let God show you the
truth of this.
“Lord God, please show me
just exactly what all I am doing wrong regarding this commandment of Thine.
Show me how I am breaking this law and help me to repent of that sin and
forsake it. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“Thou shalt not take the name
of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that
taketh his name in vain.” (20:7) God’s High and Holy
Name is not to be cursed or blasphemed. His Great Name is not to be used by us
as a byword. It is not to be spoken by us in any casual, joking, or jesting way
at all. To do so is to break this second commandment. And all of us are guilty
of having done that to our Creator God’s High and Lofty Name.
“Almighty God, please show me
how that I have taken Thy Name in vain. Help me to repent of that and cease to
do it. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“Remember the sabbath day, to
keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh
day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou,
nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy
cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord
made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh
day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (20:8-11) Each of us has, at times, failed to properly keep God’s
weekly day of rest and thereby have broken this law of His.
“Almighty God, please show me
my wrongdoings concerning this commandment of Thine and help me to do right
from now on regarding it. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“Honour thy father and thy
mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth
thee.” (20:12)
“Almighty God, please show me
the ways in which I have not honoured the earthly father and mother that Thou
gavest to me. Please help me from now on to honour my father and mother in the
ways that Thou commandest me to do. I pray this for all other people also.
Amen.”
“Thou shalt not kill.” (20:13) Likely you have never physically murdered anyone. But in
the New Testament, Christ spoke plainly on other sins that break this law. “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not
kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say
unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in
danger of the judgment.” (Matthew 5:21-22) Hatred
toward other people and unjustified anger toward other people are sins that
break this commandment.
“Lord God, please show me the
sins I have committed against this commandment, and help me to repent of them
and forsake them. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“Thou shalt not commit
adultery.” (20:14) Christ also explained this
sin in more detail. “Ye have heard that it was said
by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That
whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her
already in his heart.” (Matthew 5:27-28) Physical
acts are not the only things that make us lawbreakers. Here, Christ warns that
looking on a woman to lust after her is to commit the sin of adultery in one’s
heart.
“Almighty God, please reveal
to me all my sins of immorality against Thee, both in thought and in deed.
Please help me to repent of them and forsake them. I pray this for everyone
else also. Amen.”
“Thou shalt not steal.” (20:15) “Lord God, I acknowledge that
during my life, I have wrongfully taken things that did not belong to me and
therefore broke Thy commandment not to steal. Please help me to truly repent of
this sin. Please guide me regarding making restitution for what I have stolen.
I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“Thou shalt not bear false
witness against thy neighbour.” (20:16) “Almighty God, please reveal to me the extent to which I have
broken this commandment during my lifetime by lying. Please help me to truly
repent of all lying, falsehood, and deception. Please help me to be honest and
upright in all my words and deeds. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“Thou shalt not covet thy
neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his
manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is
thy neighbour’s.” (20:17) “Lord God, please send Thy Holy Spirit to reveal to me the extent
to which I have coveted various things that did not belong to me all throughout
my lifetime. Help me to truly repent of breaking this commandment of Thine, and
please help me to obey this command from now on. I pray this for all other
people also. Amen.”
I listed all the ten
commandments there for the purpose of you thinking seriously on each one of
them and for you to open your heart completely to God’s Holy Spirit to come
into your conscience and heart and reveal to you just what a rebellions
lawbreaker and outlaw you have been for all your life regarding our Supreme
Lawgiver and His Laws. Get serious as you read this in order to have your
Creator God save you instead of destroy you. All of us human creatures are
much more exceedingly sinful than our carnal mind would like to admit.
Therefore it is a must for each of us to hold up God’s Divine Law in
front of us as a mirror for it to clearly show us our exceeding
sinfulness. Dare not to ignore our Lawgiver’s laws. Dare not to run from
them. But hold that mirror of Divine Law up to your sinful being to let it
show you just how sinful and wicked you are. Let the Law be your
schoolmaster to lead you to salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Almighty God, please save me
from running from Thy Law. It is a most fearful thing for us sinful creatures
to gaze upon Thy Divine, Holy Law. So save me from ignoring it and running from
it. Help me to be fully aware that it is much more fearful to cause Thee to
destroy me in an everlasting Hell because I ran from Thy Law instead of coming
to it and submitting to it to let it be my schoolmaster to guide me to
salvation in Christ. Please help me to fully open up my heart to Thy Law for it
to soundly convict me of how terribly I have sinned against Thee. I pray this
for all other people also. Amen.”
“The heart is deceitful
above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) That is talking about my heart. It is
talking about your heart. It is talking about the heart of every
human being on this earth. To be saved from eternal destruction, you must
not let your heart deceive you into thinking that you have no need to repent to
your Creator God for your many sins.
“Lord God, please save me
from my deceitful and desperately wicked heart. Help me to read, study, and
understand all of Thy Holy Laws in the Bible. Also help me to see just how
guilty I stand before Thee, Our Supreme Lawgiver, for having broken Thy Laws. I
pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“But sin, that it might appear
sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment
might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I
am carnal, sold under sin.” (Romans 7:13-14) Sin is
presently working death in you because our Supreme Lawgiver has decreed that He
will destroy all rebellious sinners with eternal death in Hell as punishment
for their rebellion. Sadly, many lost sinners are unaware of the eternal
perdition that awaits them after this life. That is because they do not know
God’s laws, are not aware that they have broken His laws, and do not know what
awful, never ending torments He has decreed to be their punishment for their
sinful rebellion against their Creator.
So, here in Romans 7:13, God
tells us that one reason He gave us commandments is that, by those commandments
and laws, our sin might become exceeding sinful. In order for you to be
saved from being eternally destroyed by our Supreme Lawgiver, you must be made
fully aware of just how exceedingly sinful your sins are. Only such
accurate realization will bring you to repent of them. Oh the sinful folly
of many “good, upright, and decent” people to think they are good enough to
find favor with God without repenting of anything and without asking God for
mercy and forgiveness. May God save you from being that foolish. May God
save you from your deceitful and desperately wicked heart. Please read
carefully each of those prayers I wrote after each of the 10 commandments. Sincerely
pray each of those prayers from your heart while meditating and thinking on
that commandment, and listen to God’s Holy Spirit telling you what all you have
done in your life that broke that commandment. Each of us has exceedingly
sinned against our Creator God. And only by thoroughly studying His Laws, can
we be fully made aware of just how exceedingly sinful we are.
“Almighty God, my Creator, my
Lawgiver, and my Judge, please teach me Thy Law. Please help me to carefully
study Thy laws written throughout the Bible. Please help me to freely allow Thy
Holy Spirit to use these laws of Thine to fully examine my heart, conscience,
and life, and thereby show me just how exceedingly sinful I am. Give me a
sincere heart now to believe that I am as exceedingly sinful as Thy Holy
Scriptures proclaim me to be and as Thy Holy Spirit convicts me in my heart,
telling me how exceedingly sinful I am. Please give me a heart now to honestly
admit how exceedingly sinful I am. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“Repent”
One of the first things God
ordained for His Law to do in our lives is to show us just how exceedingly
sinful we are. If God’s law has now shown you just how exceedingly sinful you
are, then it is time for you to obey our Supreme Lawgiver’s command in Acts
17:30, commanding you to repent of your sinful rebellion against Almighty God
and His Holy Laws. “And the times of this
ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.”
You are no longer ignorant of God’s laws because
you have just read His Ten Commandments here in this sermon. If you are honest
with yourself, you will have to admit that you have broken each and every one
of them. All of us have broken all of them. Also, ignorance is no excuse
because God tells us in Romans chapter 1 that He put enough evidence of His
eternal power and of his Godhead in His visible creation around us for us to
know Him. And He created you with a conscience that convicts you when you
disobey His laws.
Therefore you are faced with
the ultimate choice of all your life; to repent to your Supreme Lawgiver in
order for Him to save you, or to go on in your rebellion against Him and thereby
have Him destroy you in an eternal Hell. When
pondering that choice, always bear in mind that this Supreme Lawgiver is All
Powerful. Throughout your life, you may have laughed as you “outsmarted”
the people God places in authority over you and thereby many times you got away
with disobeying your parents, teachers, and law enforcement officials. Possibly
their failure to catch you and punish you makes you feel most secure in any
sinful, rebellious act you choose to do. But rest assured that you will never
escape the long arm of the Law of This Supreme Lawgiver. He is All Powerful to
catch you and punish you. Of a certainty, He will destroy you
eternally unless you repent to Him.
“Almighty God, please save me
from the folly of thinking that I can sin against Thee and get away with it.
Please help me to fully believe that You will certainly, without fail, destroy
me for breaking Thy Laws unless I repent. Please reveal to me the horrors of
the eternal punishment that awaits all people who do not repent to Thee. I pray
this for all other people also. Amen.”
The vast majority of this
sinful human race stubbornly rebels against our Creator’s command to repent and
thereby perish in eternal Hell fire. Sinful rebellious people just do not want
Almighty God to rule over them. They want to be their own god instead, doing
just exactly what sinful things they desire to do. God’s command to repent
is highly despised by the human race. So please don’t ever forget that despite
of God’s command leads straight to destruction. “Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he
that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.” (Proverbs 13:13)
“Almighty God, I cry out to
Thee to save me from despising Thy Holy Word. Save me from despising Thy command
for me to repent to Thee. Teach me the fear of the Lord God. Teach me what a
fearful thing it is to fall into the hands of the Living God on Judgment Day.
Help me to fear all Thy commands. Help me to obey them. Help me to obey Thy
command to repent and thereby receive Thy reward of the forgiveness of my sins.
I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
My fellow preachers, you well
know how people despise preaching on repentance. God forbid that you let that
despite silence you. This perverse and sinful generation stands in dire need of
preaching about repentance. Preaching repentance is basic and foremost in
telling people about the True and Living God. When John the Baptist started
preaching, his first words were God’s command to repent. “In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of
Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 3:1-2) In the exact same manner, our Lord Jesus started
His preaching here on earth by commanding repentance. “Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee,
preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled,
and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15)
My fellow preachers, God has
called you to stand in the gap and preach repentance to this stiffnecked and
rebellious generation. God forbid that you fail in this duty of yours.
Nowadays, one reason few people repent is because there is little preaching on
repentance. Preacher, call on God to give you the backbone to not be dismayed
at their fierce faces, but rather to boldly preach repentance to everyone God
leads you to preach to.
“Heavenly Father, I pray for
Thy preachers. Help them to do Thy Perfect Will in preaching repentance just as
You lead them to do. Give them Holy boldness and courage to stand in the gap
and boldly call on sinners to repent. Enable them to vividly describe the awful
eternal fate of all people who refuse to repent to their Creator God. And
please rain down the thunder of Thy Power upon their preaching and send strong
conviction into the hearts of those who hear it. Cause lost souls to repent to
Thee, I pray. Amen.”
The Bible calls people “lost”
who are without Christ and His Salvation. “For the Son
of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) Lost friend, right now, Christ is seeking you and
desires to save you. Your eternal fate hinges on whether or not you repent to
your Creator God. In Luke 13:3, the Saviour of the world proclaims to mankind, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise
perish.” Two verses later, our Lord repeats
the exact same weighty words for emphasis.
Our Gracious and Merciful
Creator God is most desirous to save us if only we will repent. Repent means to
turn from rebelling against God and to come to Him to obey Him. Listen
to God in the Old Testament pleading to rebellious people to turn. “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in
the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live:
turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will
ye die, O house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 33:11) Listen to
your Creator’s Voice right now as He speaks to your heart, calling on you to
turn to Him in repentance.
Lost friend, you must
obey God’s command in Acts 17:30 to repent to Him. On considering His command to repent and on considering your
reluctance to do so, think deeply on the fact that you apologize to other
people when you wrong them. Think on just how many times you have apologized to
people throughout your life. It would be impossible to number the times.
Therefore if you are so prone to apologize to imperfect human beings, then
just why are you the least bit reluctant to apologize (repent) to a Perfect
Almighty God Who loves you with a Perfect Love, Who gave you His Perfect and
Just Law for you to obey, and Who so graciously and mercifully provided Perfect
forgiveness and Perfect, Eternal Salvation for you if only you will repent???
YOU ARE ENTIRELY WITHOUT EXCUSE FOR NOT REPENTING TO GOD. SO PLEASE DO
IT RIGHT NOW.
“Almighty God, please work in
my heart to help me to truly repent to Thee. Reveal to me how heavily Thy Wrath
will be upon me if I knowingly and stubbornly refuse to repent to Thee after
being reminded of the fact that I frequently apologize to other people. Please
send Thy Holy Spirit right now to teach me the terror of the Lord. Reveal to me
Almighty God Who is a Consuming Fire. Cause me to fully know what a fearful
thing it is to fall into the Hands of the Living God. Show me just how awful
will be my eternal punishment in Hell if I refuse to repent to Thee. By Thy
Unlimited Power break all the bonds of Satan, sin, and self that bind me. Right
now, enable me to cry out to Thee in all sincerity from the depths of my heart,
‘Lord God, my Creator and My Lawgiver, I repent unto Thee for having broken Thy
Laws and thereby having sinned against Thee. Please have mercy on me, forgive
me, and save me from being destroyed.’ Thank Thee; Lord, for enabling me to
pray this in earnest. I also pray that all people
will come to pray this prayer to
Thee. Amen.”
“Bring us unto Christ”
Next, God ordained that the
law be our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ,
that we might be justified by faith.” (Galatians
3:24) Being justified with God by faith is how God ordained that we lawbreakers
be saved from being destroyed. And there is only one way for us lawbreakers
to stand justified before our Supreme Lawgiver and Judge. That is by repenting
to God and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. Christ is God
the Son. He is the Saviour of the World. He is the only Way to Heaven. He is
the only Way for anyone to escape going to the eternal damnation of Hell.
Speaking of Christ, Acts 4:12
says, “Neither is there salvation in any
other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we
must be saved.” While here on this earth, Christ
taught very plainly regarding this, saying, “I am the
way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) Your only Hope of being saved forever instead of
being destroyed forever is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World.
Please read my sermon, “One Thing Is Needful,” and pray from your heart all the
prayers in that sermon. In it, I write in more detail about trusting in Christ
to be saved.
“Believe
on the Name of His Son Jesus Christ”
One of the first
commandments of our Supreme Lawgiver that we sinful lawbreakers must obey is
His command for us to repent. I have talked much on that, so now let’s
look at the next command we should obey. “And this is
his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his son Jesus
Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” (I John 3:23) To believe on the Name of Jesus Christ means to
trust in Him, to put our faith in Him. Throughout your life, you have relied upon (trusted in) many
people for your needs of life, your parents, teachers, policemen, grocery store
owners, doctors, and such people. In a similar manner, you must trust in Christ
for the one thing most important to you, for Christ to
save you from eternal destruction. Salvation in Christ is much more important
to you than anything else. Without it, you will be destroyed forever. That
previous list of people who help you are all beings that you can see with your
physical sight and can also readily see the various helps they render to you.
But presently, we cannot see the Lord Jesus Christ with our physical eyes. So
it requires faith in an unseen God for us to trust in Him. “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things
which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things
which are not seen are eternal.” (II
Corinthians 4:18) You must exercise spiritual eyes of faith to believe on the
Name of the Saviour of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ Whom you have never
seen. Ask God to help you do that.
“Almighty God, please come
now and empower me and enable me to obey Thy commandment to believe on the Name
of Thy Son, Jesus Christ. Please give me spiritual vision to look upon the
unseen, and see Thy Saviour standing ready to save me if only I will come to
Him and trust in Him. Help me to see that Christ loves me with the greatest
love there is, in that He gave His life for me on the cross. Please speak to my
heart right now, revealing Thyself to me in all certainty. Teach me just how
necessary Christ is to me and show me how urgent it is for me to put my faith
and trust in Christ right now. Please draw me to Christ now and please create
within my heart a sincere desire to trust in Christ. Also, please give me the
faith to trust in Him as my Lord and Saviour and my God. I pray this for all
other people also. Amen.”
Don’t forget Galatians 3:24. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ,
that we might be justified by faith.” With the
greatest Love that exists, Christ took our place and received the punishment of
our sins and God’s Wrath against our sins by that brutal death He suffered on
the cross. By taking that punishment and physical death, He was “destroyed” as
a substitute for you (and for every person who has ever lived and who
will ever live). Listen to me! The Lord Jesus Christ loves you so much
that He willingly chose to be destroyed for you, instead of you, so that you
will not have to be destroyed. “Greater
love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Christ Himself spoke those words in John 15:13. No one loves
you like Jesus does. He let Himself be destroyed in your place.
Therefore it is not necessary
for you to be destroyed by receiving the punishment of your sins. Christ poured
out all of His pure, innocent blood to provide cleansing for your sins.
Therefore by putting your faith in Christ to save you, you become justified
before God, and thereby will be saved instead of being destroyed. God has all
power, to save or to destroy. He does one or the other of these 2 things to all
human creatures. He saves all who put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ,
the Saviour of the world. But Almighty God destroys all people who reject
Christ. There is no middle ground. You cannot ignore this all-important
issue of life. To simply ignore Christ is to outright reject Him. Please
believe on The Lord Jesus Christ right now. Don’t delay. You have no promise of
tomorrow. God is not willing that any person perish, be destroyed. His Desire
is that you trust in Christ and thereby be saved eternally by Almighty God.
“Almighty Lord God, I desire
to put my faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Please create that faith
inside my heart right now and enable me to fully trust in Christ. I confess
that Jesus Christ Who walked this earth, as a human creature of flesh is the
One True, Almighty God. I confess that I now make the decision to trust in
Christ for my salvation and to believe on Jesus Christ as my Lord, my Saviour,
and my God. Please help my unbelief and give me strong, unwavering, undoubting
faith to totally place my life in Christ’s Hands and stand firmly upon this Solid
Rock of God’s Salvation. Thank Thee, Lord God, for hearing and answering this
prayer of mine. Thank Thee for receiving me unto Thyself. Thank Thee for giving
me Thy free gifts of faith, salvation, and eternal life, which are in the Lord
Jesus Christ only. Amen.”
Previously, I have written
the Scripture in Galatians 3:24 because it is most important. Now, read the
next 2 verses. “But after that faith is come, we are
no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith
in Jesus Christ.” (Galatians 3:25-26) All
people are NOT children of God. All people are NOT headed for Heaven or some
paradise after this life. Only the people who put their faith and trust in the
Lord Jesus Christ are children of God. They are the only people who go to
Heaven. They are the only ones who enjoy a perfect, blissful life hereafter.
While here on this earth,
Christ spoke most plainly to men who opposed Him and rejected Him, saying. “Ye are of your father the devil.”
(John 8:44) All people who have not put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus
Christ, and thereby became children of God, are children of the devil. Almighty
God will destroy all of them with everlasting destruction.
“Almighty God, I confess and
proclaim that I believe in and am trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ. I desire
to be a child of God instead of a child of the devil. Please place me in Christ
and make me a child of God. Teach me what it means to be a child of God. Show
me the standing I have with Almighty God as Thy child. Also show me the
everlasting inheritance I have with all other saints of all ages who have
obeyed God and put their trust in God to save them. Amen.”
“Love
the Lord Thy God with all thy heart”
When Christ was here on the
earth, once a lawyer came to Him and asked, “Master,
which is the great commandment in the law?” (Matthew
22:36) Because obeying God is the most important thing in life for us to do,
please carefully read what Christ said is the first and great commandment.
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord Thy
God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This
is the first and great commandment.” (37-38)
Nothing is more important for you to do than to obey this command of your
Creator. Ask Him to teach you how to obey it and to help you to do it.
“Heavenly Father, teach me
the love of God. Speak to me in my heart and tell me just how much Thou doest
love me. Also, please teach me how to love Thee. Teach me how to obey this
first and great commandment of Thine by loving my Lord God with all my heart,
and with all my soul, and with all my mind. I pray this for all other people
also. Amen.”
“God’s Holy Scriptures in the
Holy Bible tell us exactly what it means for us to love God. The Bible teaches
us exactly what we must do in order to obey this first and great command. “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments:
and his commandments are not grievous.” (I John
5:3) To love God is to obey Him. Therefore, daily, slowly
and carefully read the Bible. Each time you read something that God commands us
believers to do, pray to God to give you full understanding of that
commandment, and pray for Him to help you to totally obey it. Obeying your
Creator God will give you the most blessed life you can have here on earth, and
it will give you much eternal reward in Heaven that you will have and enjoy
forever.
“Heavenly Father, I thank
Thee that I can now truly call Thee my ‘Father’ because I have put my trust in
the Lord Jesus Christ and thereby have become a child of God. Now please help
me to love Thee by keeping and obeying Thy commandments in the Bible. Please
help me to read and study Thy Holy Bible daily. And as I do, please send Thy
Holy Spirit to teach me the meaning of it. Please give me Divine discernment
from Heaven to discern all the commandments in the Bible that now pertain to
me, a present day Christian believer. Give me a heart and a desire to obey all
those commandments and empower me with Thy Divine Power to enable me to obey
them. I pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
“Love
thy neighbor as thyself”
After telling us God’s first
and great commandment, Christ then taught us what is the second most important
commandment. “And the second is like unto it, Thou
shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the
law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:39-40) Again, the
Bible tells just exactly what we are to do to obey this commandment. “And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them
likewise.” (Luke 6:31) Do unto others as you
would have them do to you. Treat people in the kind and fair way that you
desire for people to treat you. Do not do unto people things you do not want
people to do unto you. This is the way we obey God’s second great commandment.
“Heavenly Father, please help
me to obey this second great commandment of Thine. Please help me to love other
people just as I love my own self. Please help me to be concerned about the
welfare of others and do what I can to help them. Help me to treat people
kindly and fairly. Help me not to do things to others that I do not want done
to me. Help me to daily show other people Christ in me the hope of glory. I
pray this for all other people also. Amen.”
Submit yourself fully to God
to totally obey Him and to always follow His Leading. Read the Bible regularly
and much to learn of God and of all the things He commands us to do. Each time
you start to read the Bible, pray and ask God to teach you the meaning of the
scriptures you are about to read. Pray for God to use you to lead other people
to the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask Him to help you to grow spiritually and to enable
you to bear spiritual fruit for Him. Submit yourself totally to God for Him to
use your life as He desires. Please pray for me that I will always discern and
follow God’s Guidance and always do His Divine Will for my life. As God leads
you to do, tell others about this sermon and pray that they will read it. How
awful is the eternal fate of the people who do not come to Christ for salvation
and therefore go to Hell for the punishment of their sins. With God’s Help and
Guidance, let’s do all we can to lead people to Christ in order for Almighty
God to save them instead of destroy them.
“Heavenly Father, I
completely submit my entire being to Thee and to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus
Christ to totally obey Thee and to always follow Thy Leading. Please help me to
read Thy Holy Bible daily, and as I read Thy Scriptures, please send Thy Holy
Spirit to teach me their meaning and to teach me all the things You command me
to do. Please create within me a willing heart desirous to obey Thee in all
things. Please help me to grow spiritually and enable me to bear spiritual
fruit by leading other lost souls to Christ. Please give me the words about the
Living God that You would have me to tell other people, and give me the courage
to speak these words to others. Help me to grow into a spiritually mature giant
who will give great glory to Thee by my life here on earth. Please increase my
faith in Thee to believe Thee for great things that glorify Thee. Please give
me strong courage to stand for Thee as a courageous soldier and do spiritual
battle for Thee. Fight for me and grant me great spiritual victories, I pray.
Help me to always bear in mind the grave and solemn certainty that without fail,
I will soon appear before the Judgment Bar of the Supreme Lawgiver when He will
sit in Judgment on me and judge me on all the things done in my body whether
they be good or bad. Teach me the terror of the Lord to cause me to fear Thee
and to forsake all sin. Teach me the terror of the Lord so I will do all I can
to persuade other people to repent and believe on Christ in order to be saved
and not be destroyed. I place my life fully in Thy Hands for Thee to do with it
as Thou pleaseth. I pray for all other people to fully obey Thee also. Thank
Thee for hearing my prayers and for the wonderful things You will do with my
life for Thy Glory. Amen.”
“Who
is the Lord, that I should obey his voice?”
The book of Exodus records
for us how that when the Lord God was ready to bring His chosen people out of
bondage from Egypt, God sent His chosen leader, Moses, to the Egyptian ruler,
Pharaoh, with the ultimatum to let God’s people go. “And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith
the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in
the wilderness.” (Exodus 5:1) Mighty Pharaoh was not
the least bit impressed with an ultimatum from Almighty God his Creator. “And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to
let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.”
Pharaoh was likely at that
time the most powerful human ruler on the face of the earth. No one told
Pharaoh what to do. He told everyone else what to do. So tragic, his
confession here that he did not know the Supreme Lawgiver of the universe. Sad
that Pharaoh did not know that he would be destroyed eternally if he refused to
obey His Creator. Read Exodus chapters 5 thru 15 to see Almighty God steadily
destroying Egypt and then ultimately drowning Pharaoh and his army in the depths
of the sea. “The Lord overthrew the Egyptians in
the midst of the sea. And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and
the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them;
there remained not so much as one of them.” (14:27-28)
No matter how great they are, God destroys each and every lawbreaker. He
will destroy you unless you repent of breaking His laws. You war against
Almighty God and He will war against you, and He will of a certainty win
and you will definitely lose.
“The Lord is a man of war:
the Lord is his name. Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the
sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. The depths have
covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. Thy right hand, O Lord, is
become glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in
pieces the enemy. And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown
them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed
them as stubble.” (Exodus 15:3-7) By His very Nature, our Supreme God
is a Man of War. And all down thru the ages of time, the vast majority of the
human race has rebelled against and fought against this Man of War. Each and
every person who did that has been or will be destroyed absolutely.
When the day of mercy, grace,
and salvation soon comes to a final end, this Supreme Lawgiver will absolutely
no longer tolerate any sin on the part of the human race He created. He will
then destroy this sinful world and cast every remaining unrepentant sinner into
an eternal lake of fire. Whatever you do with your life, you do not want
that to happen to you. Now is the day of salvation. So call on this Supreme
Lawgiver NOW to save you.

is the end of the sermon, “Supreme Lawgiver”.)
