THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN
Chapter 15
Abba Father God in Heaven, right now send Thy Holy Spirit most
powerfully into my heart and soul and set me on fire with a burning passion to
know to the fullest extent possible, the Divine Power contained in Thy Holy
Scriptures in this chapter of the Gospel of John.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.” (Verse 1)
Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art the True Vine. I worship Thee as the True Vine. Heavenly Father, I confess that Thou art the Husbandman. I worship Thee, Heavenly Father, as the Husbandman.
“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every
branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring froth more fruit.” (Verse 2)
Lord Jesus, I desire to be a branch of Thine. I desire to bear
much spiritual fruit for Thy Glory. Please do not take me away from Thee.
Please empower me with Thy Holy Spirit and thus enable me to bear fruit unto
Thee. I now yield myself to Thee for this purpose. Please purge me, that I may
bring forth more fruit, much Spiritual fruit for Thee, Precious Lord.
“Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.” (Verse 3)
Lord Jesus Christ, please speak unto me all the words Thou
wouldest have me to hear. Please cause me to listen, understand, and obey all
Thy words to me. Please make me clean through the word that Thou doest speak
unto me.
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of
itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” (Verse 4)
My Lord Jesus, I desire to abide in Thee. I want to obey Thy command to abide in Thee. Please enable me to do so. Please abide in me. I confess that I cannot bear fruit of myself, except I abide in Thee, Lord Jesus, the True Vine. I desire to abide in Thee and to bear fruit.
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in
him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (Verse 5)
My Sweet Lord Jesus, I confess that Thou art the Vine. I confess that
thru my faith in Thee, I am Thy branch. I desire to abide in Thee, Jesus
Christ. I desire for The Lord Jesus to abide in me. I desire to bring forth
much fruit unto Thee for Thy Glory. Please make me into a most fruitful branch
that bringeth forth much fruit unto Thee. I confess that without the Lord Jesus
Christ, I can do nothing. I confess that Jesus Christ is my Creator God and the
Sustainer of my life. With Thy Almighty Power, please empower me to do all
things Thou hast ordained that I accomplish during my life on this earth.
“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is
withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are
burned.” (Verse 6)
Almighty Lord Jehovah God Jesus Christ, please do not cast me forth as a branch. Please protect me from withering. I do not want to be cast into the fire and burned. Please cause me to always abide in Thee.
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye
will, and it shall be done unto you.” (Verse
7)
My Lord Jesus, I desire to abide in Thee. I desire that Thy words
abide in me. Please grant this heart’s desire of mine. Please give me strong
unwavering faith to enable me to ask of Thee what I will and it shall be done
unto me. Please teach me to always ask of Thee things that are in accordance to
Thy Will.
“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye
be my disciples.” (Verse 8)
Heavenly Father, please create within my heart a burning, intense desire
to glorify Thee to the greatest extent possible in this life on earth. Please
enable me to daily glorify Thee to that great extent. Please teach and train me
to bear much fruit. Lord Jesus Christ, I desire to be Thy disciple. Please make
me into a disciple of Thine.
“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my
love.” (Verse 9)
Heavenly Father, please
reveal unto me the great degree to which Thou doest love Thy Son, Jesus Christ.
Lord Jesus Christ, please reveal unto me the great degree to which Thou doest
love me. Please enable me to fully open my heart to Thee, Lord Jesus, for the
purpose of receiving Thy Wonderful Love for me. Please cause me to always abide
in Thee, Lord Jesus, and also enable me to continue in Thy Love.
“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I
have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.” (Verse 10)
Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou hast kept Thy Father’s
commandments. I confess that Thou doest abide in Thy Father’s Love. Lord Jesus,
by Thy Unlimited Power, please enable me to keep Thy commandments, and thus to
abide in Thy Love. Please teach me all of Thy commandments. Please give me the
will to obey them, and help me to obey Thee in all things.
“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in
you, and that your joy might be full.” (Verse
11)
Lord Jesus, I thank Thee and praise Thee for speaking to me.
Please cause me to always be attentive to Thy Voice. Enable me to fully
understand the meaning of all that Thou doest speak to me. Lord Jesus, I pray
that Thy Joy will always remain in me. I pray that my joy might be full. Grant
these desires of my heart, dear Lord, I pray.
“This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved
you.” (Verse 12)
My Lord Jesus Christ, I earnestly desire to wholly obey this commandment of Thine. Please enable me to love other people, just as Thou hast loved me.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life
for his friends.” (Verse 13)
Lord Jesus, I thank Thee for loving me with the greatest love there is, in that thou didst lay down Thy Life for me, dying on the cross to day my sin debt. Please enable me to fully understand Thy Great Love to me. Please cause me to love Thee with all my heart. Lord Jesus, I want to make Thee my Best Friend. Please enable me to do that. Please train me to lay down my life for Thee. Please help me to live for the cause of other souls, not for my own self. Please train me to lay down my life for the sake of others.
“Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” (Verse 14)
Lord Jesus, I want to be Thy friend. Please enable me to do whatsoever Thou doest command me to do.
“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not
what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have
heard of my Father I have made known unto you” (Verse
15)
Lord Jesus Christ, please call me Thy friend. Please make known
unto me all things that Thou hast heard of Thy Father.
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you,
that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” (Verse 16)
Lord Jesus Christ, I confess the Truth written here, that I have not chosen Thee, but rather that Thou hast chosen me. Please impart unto me full understanding of that Truth. Please ordain me to go and bring forth fruit unto Thee. Please cause my fruit to remain. Please teach me to pray unto God the Father in Thy Name. Please guide me to always pray in accordance unto Thy Divine Will. Please grant unto me faith to believe that whatsoever I shall ask of God the Father in Thy Name, He may give it unto me.
“These things I command you, that ye love one another.”(Verse 17)
Lord Jesus, please empower me to obey Thy command to love others. I desire to keep this commandment of Thine. Please help me to do so.
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated
you.” (Verse 18)
Lord Jesus Christ, please teach me the Truth of the world hating Thee. Give me understanding of the Truth that the world will hate me because I love Thee. Save me from loving the world. Save me from desiring the world to love me. Help me to love Thee, Lord Jesus, with all my heart.
“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because
ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the
world hateth you.” (Verse 19)
Lord Jesus, I confess that I belong unto Thee. I am Thy possession.
I confess that I am not of the world. I praise Thy Name, Lord Jesus, that Thou
hast chosen me out of the world. Give me clear understanding that the world
will hate me because I belong unto Thee.
“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater
than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if
they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.” (Verse 20)
Lord Jesus Christ, please enable me to remember all the words that
Thou speakest unto me. I confess that I am Thy servant. I confess that the
servant is not greater than his lord. I confess that the people who persecuted
Thee will also persecute me. I confess that the people who have kept Thy saying
will also keep that which I speak of Thee.
“But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake,
because they know not him that sent me.” (Verse
21)
Lord Jesus, please fully prepare me to be persecuted for Thy Name’s
sake. Please bring me to a full knowledge of God the Father Who sent Thee.
Please also bring me to a full knowledge of Thee, Lord Jesus, as God the Son.
“If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but
now they have no cloke for their sin.” (Verse
22)
Lord Jesus Christ, please come unto me. Please speak unto me all
things Thou hast ordained that I hear from Thee. Please give me ears to hear, a
heart to perceive, and a will to obey, all that Thou doest speak to me.
Convince me that I have no cloak for my sin. Please show me my sins, forgive my
sins, and wash me clean from sin by Thy Precious Shed Blood.
“He that hateth me hateth my Father also.” (Verse 23)
Lord Jesus, I confess that the person that hateth Thee hateth God
the Father also. Please save me from ever hating my Creator God. Please teach
me to love Almighty God with all my heart.
“If I had not done among them the works which none other man did,
they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my
Father.” (Verse 24)
Lord Jesus Christ, please do mighty and great works in my presence
and in the presence of all the souls around me. Please perform miracles that
none other man can do. I earnestly desire to see Thee, Lord Jesus. I also
desire to see God the Father. Please reveal Thyself unto me. And please enable
me to love Thee dearly.
“But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is
written in their law, They hated me without a cause.” (Verse 25)
Lord Jesus, I confess that everyone who hates Thee, doest hate
Thee without a cause. I confess that Thou art altogether good, and hast never
done any wrong to anyone. Thou hast done all things well. I confess that I do
not hate Thee, Lord Jesus. I confess that I love Thee with all my heart.
“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the
Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall
testify of me:” (Verse 26)
Lord Jesus, I thank Thee for sending the Comforter unto us from
God the Father. I confess that the Comforter is the Spirit of truth, which
proceedeth from God the Father. I confess that the Spirit of truth doeth
testify of Thee, Lord Jesus. I pray for the Spirit of truth to teach me of
Jesus Christ and to teach me the full meaning of Thy Scriptures in the Holy
Bible.
“And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from
the beginning.” (Verse 27)
Lord Jesus Christ, I desire to bear witness of Thee. Please enable
me to do so. I come unto Thee now, Lord Jesus, and I desire to be with Thee
always and forevermore. Please grant unto me these most earnest desires of my
heart.
Lord God on High, I pray all these things for all human souls now
on this earth. I humbly ask them in the High and Holy Name of God the Son, the
Lord Jesus Christ, and for His Name’s Sake. Thank Thee, Lord, for Thy
Faithfulness in answering my prayers. Amen.
