THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN
John Chapter 4
Abba Father, I earnestly plead with Thee to teach me
the fullness of the meaning of each word in this 4th chapter of John.
Please impart unto me Perfect Knowledge and Wisdom of all these Holy
Scriptures. Please enable me to apply all of these Scriptures perfectly to my
life, and to proclaim them to everyone I can in the fullness of Holy Ghost
Power, all for Thy Great Glory, and for the Spiritual benefit of all
mankind.
“When
therefore the Lord knew how the Phar’i-sees had heard that Je’sus made and
baptized more disciples than John,” (Verse 1)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as The One, True, Omniscient God Who knows everything
and thus knows all about me. Please make me pleasing in Thy Divine Sight.
Please make me into Thy disciple. I long to be Thine, Lord Jesus, and to always
abide close to Thee.
“(Though
Je’sus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)” (Verse 2)
Lord Jesus Christ, I desire to be Thy disciple and
do the work Thou hast ordained for my life on earth. Make me useful unto Thee,
and use my life on this earth to the utmost for Thy Great Glory.
“He
left Ju-dae’a, and departed again into Gal’i-lee.” (Verse 3)
“And
he must needs go through Sa-ma’ri-a.” (Verse 4)
Lord
Jesus, I desire to follow Thee whithersoever Thou goest. Please give me a
willing and obedient heart to do so, never balking at following Thee
whithersoever Thou must needs go. Please lead me in paths of righteousness for
Thy Precious Names’ Sake.
“Then
cometh he to a city of Sa-ma’ri-a, which is called Sy’char, near to the parcel
of ground that Ja’cob gave to his son Jo’seph.” (Verse 5)
Lord Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as the God of
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.
“Now
Ja’cob’s well was there. Je’sus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat
thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.” (Verse 6)
Lord
Jesus Christ, tho Thou art Almighty God, when Thou became flesh (man), Thou didst
experience weariness just as I do. When I labour and am heavy laden and become
weary, please help me to always come unto Thee for rest.
“There
cometh a woman of Sa-ma’ri-a to draw water: Je’sus saith unto her, Give me to drink.” (Verse 7)
Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou doest need
nothing from man, but that we are most needy of Thee and all the essentials
that Thou doest supply for our body, soul, and spirit. Convince me that when
Thou doest ask of man, or doest make a need known to man, it is to teach us a
most important Spiritual Truth. Please teach me what I should learn from Thy
request of this woman in this verse.
“(For
his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)” (Verse 8)
“Then
saith the woman of Sa-ma’ri-a unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew,
askest drink of me, which am a woman of Sa-ma’ri-a? for the Jews have no
dealings with the Sa-mar’i-tans.” (Verse 9)
“Je’sus
answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of
God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have
asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” (Verse 10)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please teach me fully of the Gift of God. Please give me the Gift
of God. Please reveal fully to me just Who Thou art, the One, True, Living God,
my Creator. I now earnestly ask of Thee, Lord Jesus, to please give me Living
Water.
“The
woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is
deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?” (Verse 11)
Lord
Jesus Christ, thru God’s Holy Spirit please reveal unto me how that Thou hast
Living Water to freely give unto me as a free Gift of God’s Abundant Grace to
me. Please cause me to sorely thirst for Thy Living Water, and to not be
satisfied until my entire being is totally filled with Almighty God’s Living
Water.
“Art
thou greater than our father Ja’cob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof
himself, and his children, and his cattle?” (Verse 12)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please reveal unto me just how Great Thou art. Convince me that
Thou art Almighty God, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Everlasting
God. Teach me to reverence, fear, and worship Thee as Almighty God.
“Je’sus
answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this
water shall thirst again:” (Verse 13)
Lord
Jesus Christ, teach me how that this natural water is a type of the water of
the devil’s world. Convince me that all the things that are in the devil’s
world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, can
never satisfy me. Convince me that if I partake of these things of the devil’s
world, that the pleasure I can derive from them is ever so short lived, and
that I will soon thirst again. Please save me from partaking of the water of
the devil’s world. Convince me that the water of the devil’s world will destroy
me. Save me from loving the things of the devil’s world; the lust of the flesh,
the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Please help me to make my Creator
God my 1st and foremost love.
“But
whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but
the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up
into everlasting life.” (Verse 14)
Lord Jesus, please make me ever so desirous to drink
of the Living Water that Thou doest give unto mankind. By Thy Holy Spirit,
reveal unto me how blessed and glorious it will be for me to have this Living
Water in me as a well of water springing up into everlasting life. Convince me
thoroughly that Christ’s Living Water, and Christ’s Living Water alone, can
satisfy my soul and fully quench my soul’s thirst. Lord Jesus, I worship Thee
as the Giver of Living Water from Almighty God. I now open my heart and my
entire being to Thee for the purpose of Thee pouring The Living God’s Water
into me and filling me full to running over with The Living Water from the
Hills of God.
“The
woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come
hither to draw.” (Verse 15)
Lord
Jesus Christ, right now I pray the exact prayer unto Thee that this woman
prayed. Please give me this Living Water, so that my soul will never, ever
thirst again. By Jehovah God’s Almighty Power, please save me from ever again
going to draw from the water of the devil’s world. Please save me from the
Devil’s destructive world and give my thirsty soul Living Water from Heaven in
abundance. I confess that only God’s Living Water can satisfy me. O, Lord Jesus
Christ, please fill me with all the fullness of God and satisfy me.
“Je’sus
saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come
hither.” (Verse 16)
Lord
Jesus, please help me to go out and call everyone to come unto Thee to receive
God’s Living Water. Make me a glorious living testimony to God’s Water of Life
overflowing from a human soul.
“The
woman answered and said, I have no husband. Je’sus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:” (Verse 17)
“For
thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in
that saidst thou truly.” (Verse 18)
“The
woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.” (Verse 19)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I confess that Thou art much more than a prophet. Thou art
Almighty Jehovah God, The Creator of all things. I worship Thee as my Creator
God, and The Giver of the Water of Life.
“Our
fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Je-ru’sa-lem is the
place where men ought to worship.” (Verse 20)
Almighty Lord Jehovah God, please teach me how to
worship Thee in spirit and in truth. Teach and guide me to fervently worship
Thee daily. Teach me how that I can always worship Thee no matter where I am.
Lord Jesus Christ, Thou art worthy of all my worship and adoration.
“Je’sus
saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh,
when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Je-ru’sa-lem, worship the
Father.” (Verse 21)
“Ye
worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the
Jews.” (Verse 22)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please save me from all spiritual ignorance. Please save me from
worshipping what I know not. Please fully reveal the One, True, Living God unto
me. Convince me that this One, Living God is my Creator. Almighty Jehovah God,
I confess that mankind’s Salvation is God Himself and that Thy Salvation to the
entire human race is of the Jews. Please bless Thy Chosen People and Thy Chosen
Nation, Israel. Save Israel, Lord, I pray.
“But
the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father
in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” (Verse 23)
Almighty
Lord Jehovah God, please create within my being a most intense desire and
craving to become a true worshipper of Thee, My Creator God. Please teach me to
worship Thee in spirit and truth. Right now, please come seeking me to make me into
a true worshipper of the One, True God. Help me now to yield myself fully to
Thee for that purpose.
“God
is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in
truth.” (Verse 24)
Almighty Jehovah God, I confess that Thou art a Spirit.
Please teach me that worshipping Thee in spirit and truth is the act of me
confessing to Thee what Thou art. Almighty God, Thou art Jehovah. Thou art
Lord. Thou art King. Thou art The Great I Am. Thou art the Creator of all
things. Thou art a Triune God. Thou art God the Father, God the Son, and God
the Holy Spirit. Thou art All. From my heart, I now worship Thee as all these
things, worshipping Thee in Spirit and in Truth.
“The
woman saith unto him, I know that Mes-si’as cometh, which is called Christ:
when he is come, he will tell us all things.” (Verse 25)
Lord Jesus, Thou art the Messiah. Thou art the
Christ. Thou art the All-Knowing God Who telleth us all things. I worship Thee
as such. Please tell me all things.
“Je’sus
saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.” (Verse 26)
Lord Jesus, I believe that Thou art the Messiah. I
believe that Thou art the Christ. Please speak unto me just as Thou didst speak
unto this woman. Please speak to me all the Words of God that I need to hear.
Give me Spiritual perception to recognize Thy Glorious Voice. Please give me a
willing mind and heart to obey all Thy Words to me. I worship Thee, Lord Jesus,
for speaking unto me.
“And
upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet
no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her? (Verse 27)
Lord Jesus Christ, please teach me how that Thou art
not a respecter of persons, that Thou doest love each and every human soul, and
desireth to commune with each of us. Please commune with me.
“The
woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the
men,” (Verse 28)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I desire to meet Thee, to come to know Thee fully. And then, in
accordance to Thy Divine Will, I want to drop, leave, and forsake all the things and matters that have
occupied me till now. And I to follow Thee wholly, and tell everyone I can how
wonderful Thou art. Please enable me to do these things for Thy Glory.
“Come,
see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?”
(Verse 29)
Lord Jesus Christ, in accordance to Thy Divine Will
for me, please send me forth to call on everyone to come unto Thee; a Man Who
is Almighty God. A man who knows all things that I ever did. A Man Who can tell
me everything. A Man Who is the Christ. Please enable me to proclaim Thy
Greatness to everyone.
“Then
they went out of the city, and came unto him.” (Verse 30)
Lord
Jesus Christ, by God’s Holy Spirit, please draw all men unto Thee now. Please
cause all people to come unto Thee now.
“In
the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.” (Verse 31)
Lord Jesus, please properly restrain me. Please
teach me my proper place as a believer, servant, and follower of Thine. Please
save me from the sin of setting myself up as one who tells Thee what to do.
Please open my eyes to make me fully aware of just how much people worship
their belly and are always calling on others to eat. Save me from the sinful
idolatry of making a god out of food and a god out of my belly.
“But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.” (Verse 32)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please teach me of this Spiritual meat that I know now of. Please
give me of this Spiritual meat to eat.
“Therefore
said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?”
(Verse 33)
“Je’sus
saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that
sent me, and to finish his work.” (Verse
34)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please enable me to do the Will of Almighty God. Please enable me
to finish the work that Almighty God my Creator has ordained for my life on
earth. Please help me to make these things my meat.
“Say
not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto
you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to
harvest.” (Verse 35)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please give me Perfect Spiritual Vision to perceive that all the
lost souls on this earth need to come to Thee for Eternal Life. Please show me
how that lost mankind is a field white already to harvest. Please guide me into
this field of labour, to harvest lost souls for Thy Kingdom. Use me, Lord, I
pray.
“And
he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that
both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.” (Verse 36)
Lord Jesus, I want to reap Thy Field of Harvest and
receive the wages thereof. I desire to gather fruit unto life eternal for Thy
Great Glory. I desire to reap an abundance and thus rejoice with him that soweth.
Please grant these requests for me. May it all be for Thy Glory.
“And
herein is that saying true, One soweth and another reapeth.” (Verse 37)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I confess that it is a true saying that one soweth and another
reapeth. Help me to fully surrender my being to Thee for the purpose of me
sowing and reaping in according to Thy Divine Will for my life here on earth.
“I
sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye
are entered into their labours.” (Verse
38)
Lord
Jesus Christ, please send me to reap in accordance to Thy Divine Will for me.
Please save me from the sinful vanity of glorying in anything that Thou doest
graciously allow me to accomplish. Help me to always give Thee all the glory.
Keep me mindful that I will reap where I bestow no labour, entering into the
labours of others. I pray for all other believers who labour in Thy Fields of
Harvest. Please add Thy Most Abundant Blessings to our most limited abilities
and give a great harvest of souls for Thy Greater Glory.
“And
many of the Sa-mar’i-tans of that city believed on him for the saying of the
woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.” (Verse 39)
Lord
Jesus, I pray that by Thy Grace I will be firmly rooted and grounded in my
faith toward Thee. Please give me strong, unshakable faith in Thee, my Creator
God. Please help all us Christian believers to boldly testify to everyone of
our faith in Thee. May many people believe on Thee, as we believers testify of
our faith in God.
“So
when the Sa-mar’i-tans were come unto him, they besought him that he would
tarry with them: and he abode there two days.” (Verse 40)
Lord Jesus Christ, please come and make Thy Abode in
my heart and abide with me forever. Thank Thee for Thy Precious Promise to
souls who believe on Thee, that Thou wilt never leave nor forsake us.
“And
many more believed because of his own word;” (Verse 41)
Lord
Jesus, please give me faith to wholly believe every word in Thy Holy Bible.
Please give me faith to wholly believe and obey every word of teaching and
guidance that God’s Holy Spirit speaks to my heart. Save me from ever doubting
Thee and Thy Words. Please make me strong in faith toward my Creator God.
“And
said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have
heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of
the world.” (Verse 42)
Lord Jesus Christ, I too want to hear Thee speaking
personally to me. Right now, I call upon Thee to speak unto me great and
glorious things that I know not. Please give me keen Spiritual discernment to
always recognize Thy Precious Voice. Lord Jesus. I worship Thee as the Saviour
of the world. I desire Thee to be my Saviour forever.
“Now
after two days he departed thence, and went into Gal’i-lee.” (Verse 43)
“For
Je’sus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.”
(Verse 44)
Lord
Jesus, please teach me the significance of a prophet having no honour in his
own country.
“Then
when he was come into Gal’i-lee, the Gal-i-lae’-ans received him, having seen
all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto
the feast.” (Verse 45)
Lord Jesus, I pray that all souls now on the earth
would receive Thee, just as these people of Galilee received Thee. Change all
our rebellious hearts. Create within all souls, hearts that are receptive
toward Thee and hearts that are repentant toward our Creator God.
“So
Je’sus came again into Ca’na of Gal’i-lee, where he made the water wine. And
there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Ca-per’na-um.” (Verse 46)
“When
he heard that Je’sus was come out of Ju-dae’-a into Gal’i-lee, he went unto
him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at
the point of death.” (Verse 47)
Lord Jesus Christ, when I am sick, please guide me
to always seek Thy Help and Healing first and foremost before seeking
help from earthly doctors. Teach me how that all human souls are sinners, and
are thus sin sick unto spiritual, eternal death. Please come down unto me now.
Please minister spiritual healing unto me by saving my eternal soul.
“Then
said Je’sus unto him, Except ye see signs and
wonders, ye will not believe.” (Verse 48)
Lord Jesus, please give me strong faith to believe each
and every word of Thine, even if I do not see any signs and wonders. Help me to
always fully believe in Thee, no matter what my circumstances. Help me to
always make all Thy Holy Scriptures in The Holy Bible the bedrock foundation of
my life.
“The
nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.” (Verse 49)
Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that in life or in
death, Thou art the only True Help for all mankind. Please help all souls to
trust in Thee. Please come down unto me now, ere my soul die a spiritual death.
Please send Almighty God’s Holy Spirit into my dead spirit to make me alive
forever. Have mercy unto me, Precious Lord Jesus. Unless Thou doest come down
unto me to me to make me spiritually alive, I will die an eternal death.
“Je’sus
saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Je’sus had spoken unto him,
and he went his way.” (Verse 50)
Lord Jesus Christ, please give me strong faith to
believe every word that Thou doest speak. Convince me that each human soul who
trusts in Thee will live a blessed life forever. Please give me strong,
unshakable faith to forever trust in Thee, never doubting, never wavering. Each
day as I go my way, please always guide me perfectly to walk wholly in Thy Will
in the Way Thou wouldest have me to go.
“And
as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son
liveth.” (Verse 51)
Lord
Jesus, I worship and praise Thee for the precious life Thou doest give to the
dying. I worship Thee for working miracles of healing. Please work miracles of
healing upon me to perfectly heal my body, soul, and spirit. I pray this for
all souls now on this earth.
“Then
enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him,
Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” (Verse 52)
“So
the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Je’sus said unto
him, Thy son liveth: and
himself believed, and his whole house.” (Verse 53)
Lord
Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as Almighty God, The Great Physician. In
accordance to Thy Divine Will, please heal all the afflictions of my family and
me. Please give all my family members (my house) faith to believe on Thee.
Convince us all, that the soul who believes on Thee lives forever. Lord Jesus,
I want to live forever. I want to fully trust in Thee to receive Almighty God’s
Eternal Life.
“This
is again the second miracle that Je’sus did, when he was come out of Ju-dae’a
into Gal’i-lee.”(Verse 54)
Lord Jesus Christ, I worship Thee as Almighty God
Who works miracles. Where be Thy miracles, Lord Jesus? Please manifest them to
me in accordance to Thy Divine Will. Please give me strong faith to believe
Thou wilt work miracles for me in accordance to Thy Divine Will, miracles that
will make me perfectly whole. In accordance to Thy Divine Will, please give me
strong faith that will show all souls around me that The Lord Jehovah God of
Israel works great miracles.
Almighty
Lord Jehovah God, thank Thee for the privilege of coming to Thee in prayer. I
also pray all the prayers in this chapter for all other souls on this earth. I
pray all these bold prayers in the High and Holy Name of The Lord Jesus Christ.
And I humbly ask Almighty God the Father to answer all these prayers in
accordance to Thy Divine Will, and for The Lord Jesus Christ’s Precious Name’s
Sake. Thank Thee, Heavenly Father, for hearing and answering my prayers. I
fervently worship Thee as The One True and Living God Who hears and answers my
prayers. I love Thee, Precious Lord God. Let me hear the mighty Thunder of Thy
Almighty Power today. Amen!
